Anirban Lahiri during Round 1 of LIV Golf Mexico
Anirban Lahiri, India’s only golfer in the LIV Golf League, posted a T-22 finish at the sixth event of the 14-tournament LIV season, held from April 25–27 in Mexico City. Lahiri closed the week at 1-under-par, carding 15 birdies over three days, to sit at No. 26 in the Individual LIV Tour Standings.
Lahiri will look forward to a few top-5 finishes, like he enjoyed in 2024, to move inside the Top-24 rankings, which means automatic renewal of playing rights for the following year. On the LIV Tour, the ‘Open Zone’ is the band of players ranked 25 to 48, which means they are not automatically retained for the next season unless selected by their Team Captain. Players finishing 49 or lower are relegated out of the league.
Lahiri’s team, Crushers GC, captained by US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, with teammates Paul Casey and Charles Howell III, finished 5th in the team competition which keeps them at 4th position in the overall Team Standings.
Niemann claims 3rd win of the season, secures U.S. Open spot
At the top of the leaderboard, LIV Golf’s youngest captain, Joaquín Niemann of Chile captured his 3rd individual win of the season. With scores of 68-64-65, Niemann came from three shots behind DeChambeau and two behind Cameron Smith in the final group, both of whom are Major Champions, to win by three strokes.

Joaquín Niemann poses with the Individual Champion Trophy
The win earned Niemann an automatic exemption into the 2025 U.S. Open as the top-ranked LIV player, and will play all three remaining Majors this season, having already teed it up at The Masters.
Niemann now shares the record for most individual LIV wins (5) alongside Brooks Koepka, and continues to lead the season-long points standings.
While Niemann took individual honours, Legion XIII, captained by 11-time PGA TOUR winner Jon Rahm of Spain, edged out the all-Australian Ripper GC in the team competition to climb to No. 1 in the Team Standings.
What’s next: LIV Golf Korea
LIV Golf now heads to Asia for the seventh event of the season. LIV Golf Korea will be held from May 2–4 at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club, the same venue that hosted the 2015 Presidents Cup. The tournament marks LIV’s first-ever visit to South Korea, which now becomes the 10th different country to host a LIV event since the league’s inception.
