Aditi finished tied-62nd at the first Major of the year, The Chevron Championship

India’s Aditi Ashok, the country’s lone representative on the LPGA Tour for the past eight seasons, started her 2025 Major campaign by making the cut at The Chevron Championship, the season’s first Major, in Texas. Aditi finished tied-62nd with rounds of 72-74-77-72, closing at 7-over 295, with earnings of $17,000.

The course played tough throughout the four days, with inclement weather and shifting conditions impacting scoring. Even defending champion Nelly Korda struggled in the opening round with a 5-over 77, before recovering over the next three rounds to finish T-14.

While Aditi’s week did not feature in the headlines, her ability to navigate difficult scoring conditions and make the weekend at a Major Championship reaffirms her standing as a middle-rung consistent performer. The Chevron Championship, a staple in women’s golf since its inception in 1972, became a major in 1983 and remains one of the Tour’s highest-ranked events. However, Aditi will need a few top-10 finishes this season in order to keep her playing rights for the 2026 season.

Historic five-way playoff decides winner
Four Asians and one American were in the largest playoff in LPGA Major history, tied at 7-under-par after 72 holes. The title was eventually won by Japan’s Mao Saigo, after being the LPGA 2024 Rolex Rookie of the Year.

Next stop: Black Desert Championship
The LPGA Tour now moves to Utah for the inaugural $3 million Black Desert Championship, scheduled from May 1–4.
