Veer Misses Cut In Turkey

Veer has made 5 cuts in 9 starts this year on the DP World Tour

4-time PGTI winner, 29-year-old pro Veer Ahlawat from Delhi, is one of only two Indian golfers with full playing rights on the DP World Tour this season. Veer missed the cut at the Turkish Airlines Open in Antalya, Turkey, shooting 75 and 73 (148)—well outside the cutline set at a total of 141.

Resuming play after a month’s break, this was Ahlawat’s 4th missed cut in nine starts. His best finish this season was tied-17th at the $2.25 million Hero Indian Open on the DLF G&CC in March.

Ahlawat earned his full DPWT card for 2025 by topping the PGTI’s 2024 Rankings, but his rookie campaign on the European circuit has yet to find rhythm. He currently sits at 135th in the DPWT Rankings, outside the crucial top-110 mark required to retain full playing privileges for the next season.

Absent from the field in Antalya was India’s top-ranked player, 2-time European Tour winner Shubhankar Sharma of Chandigarh, who skipped the Turkish stop. The 28-year-old, now in his eighth straight season on the DPWT, has made only 4 cuts in 10 starts this year and needs to find his form quickly.

The next stop on the DP World Tour is the Soudal Open, in Belgium from May 22–25. Both Indian professionals have confirmed their entries, and will hope to reset their season trajectories.
