Avani was the best-finishing Indian in France at Tied-28th
The €300,000 Jabra Ladies Open, the 11th event of the 2025 Ladies European Tour (LET), concluded last week from May 22-24 at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France. All four Indian women professionals in the field made the cut—marking yet another positive outing for Indian women’s golf in Europe this season.
This year has already seen a record four Indian players with full playing rights on the LET, with a handful of other players enjoying conditional status.
Avani Prashanth, the 18-year-old LET rookie from Bangalore, led the Indian contingent with a Tied-28th finish. She has now made six cuts in eight starts in her first full LET season, including three top-20 finishes.
Hitaashee Bakshi, who was No. 1 in the 2024 HWPGT Rankings, had a topsy-turvy week in her second LET start of the season. She fired a superb five-under 66 on Day 2—the lowest round of the day—to jump to Tied-4th heading into the final round but slumped to 77 on Sunday to drop to Tied 34th. Despite the setback, Bakshi continues her promising debut LET season, following a T-12 finish at last week’s Dutch Ladies Open, her first event.
“It’s my first time [at Evian]. It’s my first full season, so everything is new for me! Playing on LET is a dream come true for me because as a child I always wanted to play here. I’m very much enjoying every single day that I can,” said Bakshi.
LET regular Tvesa Malik also closed at Tied-34th alongside Bakshi, showing signs of regaining rhythm in a season that has otherwise been inconsistent so far.
Delhi’s Diksha Dagar, the highest-ranked Indian on the LET this season at No. 8, rounded out the Indian lineup with a Tied-39th finish at 3-over 216. With multiple strong finishes already this season, Dagar remains in pole position for a top-5 Rankings position as the year progresses.
The tournament was won by Sara Kouskova of the Czech Republic, who fired a final-round 67 to finish at 10-under 203, securing a two-stroke victory over Singapore’s Shannon Tan for her first LET win.
Next Stop: Tenerife Women’s Open
The LET now heads to Spain for the €500,000 Tenerife Women’s Open, set to be played at Abama Golf in Canary Islands, from June 5 to 8. A full field of seven Indian players is expected to tee it up, including Pranavi Urs of Mysore, who is set to return after withdrawing mid-event at the Dutch Ladies Open due to suspected injury concerns.
