Arrow Aarav Shah celebrates Dustin Johnson Junior World win with his mom

Indian-origin golfer Arrow Aarav Shah has qualified for the 2025 U.S. Amateur with a 4-under 66 at Whippoorwill Club, New York, finishing tied-2nd. Earlier, he shot 68 in the local qualifier in New Jersey, displaying impressive consistency.

Born in Melbourne and bound for the University of South Carolina, the 18-year-old is no stranger to high-level competition. At 14, he became the youngest-ever player in a professional Indian event on the PGTI. He has since won the Bangladesh and Gujarat Amateurs and was low amateur at the 2023 Glade One Open.

In March, he became the first international winner of the Dustin Johnson Junior World Championship. Though he narrowly missed qualifying for the U.S. Junior Amateur last month, his progress has been steady.

Arrow now joins a select group of Indian-origin players to qualify for the U.S. Amateur, including Akshay Bhatia and Aman Gupta, and looks set for a promising college and amateur career.
