
– Parmar was the Category C Runner-Up in Indonesia
Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar, 43, of the Indian Army, shot 72-68-76 (even-par 216) to finish 5th overall and runner-up in Category C (ages 38–46) at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Mid-Amateur Championship for players aged 25 and above, played in Indonesia.
Part of the four-member Indian Golf Union (IGU) team, Parmar briefly led after a 4-under 68 in round two at the Graham Marsh–designed Gading Raya Golf Club. The World Military Golf Champion earlier this year in Kenya, Parmar was also runner-up at the IGU Senior and Mid-Amateur Championships.
Arjun Singh, the son of double Asian Games gold medallist Bunny Lakshman Singh, finished 7th overall and 3rd in Category C at 2-over 218, while Ranjit Singh, the All India Mid-Amateur champion and brother of Arjun, tied 9th at 220 and Simarjeet Singh was 21st at 230. Playing as a private entry, Ashish Kapoor tied for 2nd in Category D (47+).
