The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup champion is headed to India in October

New Delhi bound Tommy Fleetwood has just added a huge dose of excitement to the US$ 4 million DP World Championship at Delhi Golf Club, October 16 to 19th, 2025 as he arrives wearing the coveted crown of PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup champion.

This was Fleetwood’s first PGA Tour title after several near misses as he scored a convincing three-shot victory at the US$40 million FedEx Cup Championship in Atlanta. Fleetwood shot 64-63-67-68 for 18-under 262, taking home a career-best US$10 million.

A Ryder Cup star with eight worldwide wins, Fleetwood had long been among the game’s elite, but a U.S. win had eluded him despite 30 top-five finishes and six runner-up results. His triumph makes him both a PGA Tour winner and FedEx Cup champion.

Ranked No. 6 in the world and Olympic silver medallist in 2024, Fleetwood arrives in India next for the inaugural US$4 million DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club from October 16–19. Co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), it will be the richest DP World Tour event ever staged in India with US$ 4mn in prize fund.

Known for his flair and consistency, plus one of the most courteous players,  he also supports junior golf through the Tommy Fleetwood Academy in England and Dubai.

“Delhi is such an amazing place—the people, the food—I can’t wait to get back,” Fleetwood said. “Delhi Golf Club is a tight, strategic course where all playing styles have a chance, and I’m aiming to give the fans some exciting golf.”

Meanwhile, Indian-American Akshay Bhatia, 23, closed his season with rounds of 66-67-69-68 to finish a credible 13th in Atlanta and 20th in the final Fedex Cup standings.
