Kshitij Naveed Kaul, 24, of Delhi, produced a sensational finish to win the inaugural ₹1 crore Kolar Open at Zion Hills, near Bengaluru, by two strokes. Kaul carded rounds of 74-69-71-65 for a 9-under total of 279.
Starting the final round six shots behind leader Shaurya Bhattacharya, Kaul surged with birdies on four of his first six holes, stumbled with three straight bogeys, but recovered brilliantly. His closing stretch was electric — birdies on 15, 16, a chip-in on 17, and a 30-foot eagle on 18 — for a back-nine 31 that sealed his fifth PGTI title and first since November.
Shaurya (70-72-66-73) settled for runner-up at 7-under 281. Nepal’s Subash Tamang, coached by Tarun Sardesai and playing at his home course, finished sixth at 2-under 286.
Kaul’s dramatic win adds fresh momentum to his season as he looks to climb up on the PGTI rankings.
