Vietnam is emerging as Asia’s fastest-growing golf market, adding 60 courses in the past eight years and targeting another 100 in the next eight—a pace unmatched anywhere in the world.

India Golf Weekly Publisher and Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Executive Rishi Narain was in Hanoi last week at the 20th anniversary celebrations of Vietnam Golf & Leisure magazine to address a gathering of the movers and shakers of Vietnam Golf,  recognising the magazine’s role in this transformation.

Government & Industry Drive

The Vietnam Golf Association, Ministry of Sports, Tourism & Culture, and key partners such as Vietnam Golf & Leisure have combined to push golf to the forefront of sports tourism, making Vietnam a premier destination for players and investors alike.

AGIF to Support Next Phase

Narain confirmed AGIF’s commitment to the country’s growth:

  • Vietnam Golf Course Owners Summit – October 31 at Laguna Lang Co, Hue

  • AGIF Club & Turf Management Conference – Vietnam – November 1–2 at the same venue

These events will bring together course owners, turf experts and international leaders to discuss technology, sustainability and the next stage of expansion.

Outlook

“Congratulations to Vietnam Golf & Leisure for their outstanding contribution to the game,” said Narain. “The possibilities for Vietnam golf are immense, and AGIF is excited to partner with them as the future unfolds.”

With strong government backing and booming tourism, Vietnam is firmly on track to become Asia’s next major golf hub, offering a model for rapid yet sustainable golf development.
