15-year-old Kartik Singh continued to underline his potential as one of India’s most exciting young golfers, finishing runner-up after a playoff at the IGPL Invitational at Poona Golf Club, the 3rd event on the newly launched 9 tournament IGPL series.
The Delhi teenager, born in 2010—a year after eventual winner Kapil Kumar turned professional—was inches away from claiming his maiden professional title after finishing tied-eighth in Chandigarh and third at Jaypee Greens.
The IGPL is a series of 54 hole, no cut strokeplay events with limited fields, featuring men and women pros competing together for the same Rs 1.5 crore purse each week. The top lady finisher this week was Hitaashee Bakshi who finished 7th.
For veteran Kapil Kumar it was a milestone victory afte recording 5 runner up career finishes on PGTI.
Kartik Singh now sits second on the IGPL Rankings with season earnings of ₹29.9 lakh, trailing only Gaganjeet Bhullar, who leads with ₹45 lakh after two victories on the rival tour.
