Kartik Singh (centre) poses with his runner-up cheque with Uttam Mundy (L) & Yogendra Singh (Captain, Rambagh Golf Club)
Teen prodigy Kartik Singh, who turned professional last month at just 15, continued to impress with another strong performance on the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL), finishing runner-up at the fourth event of the season held at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur and moving closer to the No 1 money earner spot on the newly formed IGPL pro series which consists of 10 tournaments of 54 holes each with limited fields of 40 pro golfers of which 10 are women.
Kartik, the previously highest ranked Indian on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), shot rounds of 63, 63, and 66 for a total of 18-under 192, finishing two shots behind seasoned Pune pro Aman Raj, a former Asian Tour player and multiple PGTI winner.
This marked Kartik’s second consecutive runner-up finish, following his playoff loss to Kapil Kumar in Pune. The Delhi youngster now sits second on the IGPL Rankings with earnings of ₹43.71 lacs, just ₹1.29 lacs behind Gaganjeet Bhullar, who leads with ₹45 lacs from the opening two events. With Bhullar currently focused on playing the Asian Tour, Kartik is expected to take over the top spot after the next IGPL event in Kolkata (Oct 29–31).
With the top four finishers on the IGPL guaranteed spots at the Asian Tour Qualifying School final stage, Kartik is well placed to earn one of them — and possibly a 2026 Asian Tour card — which is the next step in one of Indian golf’s most promising young careers.
