Aman Raj overtakes Bhullar to lead the IGPL rankings

Patna’s Aman Raj continued his red-hot form, capturing his second straight IGPL title at Tollygunge Golf Club, Kolkata. The victory made him the second player after Gaganjeet Bhullar to win two events this season and the first to cross ₹50 lakh in earnings from just five starts.

Aman carded 14-under for three rounds to edge past 17-year-old Bangalore Amateur turned pro, Veer Ganapathy, who was tied with him until the final hole. While Aman calmly rolled in a closing birdie, Veer’s drive hit a tree, resulting in a costly double bogey and a final score of 11-under.

The win capped a memorable fortnight for Aman, who had beaten 15-year-old Kartik Singh of Delhi in a playoff in Jaipur the previous week. “At the start of the year, my game wasn’t quite there, but I knew it was just a matter of time,” said Aman. “Once the IGPL began, my confidence returned — I reminded myself to stay patient and focus purely on golf.”

Former All India amateur winner Aryan Roopa Anand of Bangalore finished third at 9-under (68-66-66) — his best result yet on the IGPL — followed by Samarth Dwivedi in fourth at 7-under. Syed Saqib Ahmed of Bangalore and Ranjit Singh of Chandigarh  shared fifth at 6-under.

In the women’s section, Delhi pro Ridhima Dilawari finished tied-20th at even-par, while top amateurs Rahul Ravi and Aryav Shah shared 25th at 1-over.
