
The newly minted 10 event IGPL pro tour featuring fields of 54 players including 12 ladies playing 3 rounds for Rs 1.5 crore purses, became the first all Indian pro tournament held in the UAE as it teed off an event hosted by Shiv Kapur, who has been a Dubai resident for some years now.
Chandigarh’s Karandeep Kochhar ended up clinching a one-shot win at 9-under 207 in the event held at the Els Club, Dubai.
The Chandigarh pro, a recent Asian Development Tour winner, is now confirmed for promotion to the 2026 Asian Tour, carded three steady rounds of 69 to edge out overnight leader, 17 year old Veer Ganapathy and Pukhraj Singh Gill, winner of the IGPL’s Jamshedpur stop.
11-time Asian Tour winner Gaganjeet Bhullar’s unbeaten IGPL streak also ended with a fifth-place finish at 6-under 210 (67-72-71), after three straight wins earlier this season. Bhullar, along with SSP Chawrasia completed round 2 in complete darkness, where he played the last two holes in 3 over par, to hurt his chances for a 4th consecutive IGPL win.
With one IGPL event remaining in Colombo from December 23–25, the top four IGPL players — Aman Raj, Pukhraj Singh Gill, Sachin Baisoya, and 15 year old Kartik Singh — are competing this week at the Asian Tour Final Qualifying in Thailand from December 17–21.
