DP World has signed a landmark multi-year partnership with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), becoming the Title Partner and Official Umbrella Partner of India’s premier men’s professional tour.

The agreement is one of the most significant investments in Indian professional golf and is expected to strengthen the Tour’s growth, standards and global integration.

DP World, the long-time title partner of the DP World Tour, will work with PGTI to enhance infrastructure, create international playing pathways for Indian professionals, and support grassroots and junior development programmes.

“India holds a pivotal place in DP World’s global vision,” said Rizwan Soomar, CEO & Managing Director, MENA & India Subcontinent. “Golf in India is experiencing strong momentum with significant untapped potential.”

Amitabh Kant, Board Member of the PGTI, said DP World’s global reach would help Indian golf scale new heights.

The impact of the deal is already visible in prize money. The Final Stage of Qualifying School, which earlier offered ₹5 lakh, carried ₹10 lakh this season.

The season-opening domestic stretch has also grown despite one fewer event. In 2025, four early tournaments — Players Championship at Tollygunge, Gujarat Open, Chhattisgarh Open and Ahmedabad Open — offered ₹1 crore each, totalling ₹4 crore.

This season, the Gujarat Open is missing, leaving three events, but each now carries ₹1.5 crore. The Chhattisgarh Open, the new Players Championship in New Delhi, and the Players Championship at Tollygunge together total ₹4.5 crore.

PGTI has also announced six events leading into the Hero Indian Open, with the flagship event’s purse rising to US$2.55 million from US$2.25 million last year.

Two Challenge Tour co-sanctioned events have been confirmed. The Kolkata Challenge has been replaced by the US$300,000 Indorama Ventures Open Championship in Ahmedabad, followed by the US$300,000 PGTI Open (formerly the Delhi Challenge) at Classic Golf & Country Club in Gurugram.

Under president Kapil Dev, the PGTI staged 36 events in 2025 with a prize purse of over ₹35 crore, excluding the Hero Indian Open and the DP World India Championship.

“We are delighted to welcome DP World,” Kapil Dev said. “This partnership will strengthen our competitive structure and accelerate the long-term development of professional golf in India.”
