The 24-year-old Indian-origin American opened the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with rounds of 65 and 64 to share the lead at 15-under 129 in the $20 million Signature Event. Bhatia was bogey-free over two days across Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, taking advantage of soft greens and calm conditions. His second round featured six birdies and a highlight eagle after chipping in from 50 feet on the par-5 14th.
Rickie Fowler (64) and Sam Burns (67) sit one shot back at 14-under, while Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth and defending champion Rory McIlroy remain in range. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler climbed back with a closing 66 but is still nine behind heading into the weekend.
Bhatia, a two-time PGA Tour winner who married Presleigh Schulz in December, has now gone 44 holes without a bogey over his last three rounds. He is coming off a T-3 finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, where he posted four straight rounds in the 60s and finished one behind the playoff.
After missing the cut in his first two starts of 2026, Bhatia has quickly found form again. In 2025, he played 26 events, made 19 cuts, earned $4.8 million and recorded four top-10s, with his best finish a tied third at The Players Championship.
