India’s biggest amateur golf series comprising 20 tournaments of 110 players each, the MercedesTrophy, continued its nationwide swing with key stops in Pune and Delhi Golf Club last week, as the race for National Final qualification gathered momentum.
Nearly 2,000 golfers are expected to compete across 11 cities this season, with 20 qualifying rounds forming the 2026 calendar.
The campaign opened in Mumbai at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club (January 7–8) before moving to Royal Calcutta Golf Club (January 13) and Qutab Golf Course (January 14). It then travelled south to Prestige Golfshire in Bengaluru (January 21–22) and returned to Mumbai at the Willingdon Sports Club (January 27–28), drawing over 100 Mercedes owners at each stop.
February began with Ahmedabad (Kalhaar Blues & Greens, February 1) and Chennai (TNGF Cosmo Golf Club, February 4), before the North swing gathered pace at Jaypee Greens, Greater Noida (February 11) and Classic Golf & Country Club, Gurgaon (February 12).
The series then moved to Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur (February 14) and Poona Golf Course (February 20), setting up back-to-back rounds at Delhi Golf Club on February 23 and 25 — a stretch that sharpened the competition for spots at the National Final.
The qualifier series resumes in March at Hyderabad Golf Club (March 10–11) and concludes at Panchkula GC the same week, when the field of 60 National Finalists will be complete.
