LIV Golf – Lahiri in Mexico

Is LIV Golf’s uncertain future taking a toll on Lahiri?

Anirban Lahiri, the lone Indian on LIV Golf since its inception in 2022, carded 5-over 289 (71-72-73-73) to finish T-46 at LIV Golf Mexico.

Anirban Lahiri earned US$75,333 (₹67.7 lakh) for his finish. Crushers GC, led by Bryson DeChambeau and featuring Lahiri, finished 12th out of 13 teams at 1-over.

Charles Howell III was the team’s best performer, finishing T-20 at 6-under 278. DeChambeau withdrew after the third round due to a wrist injury and was replaced by reserve player Luis Carrera for the final round.

It has been a difficult season, which has just started ,  so far for Lahiri by his LIV standards. He ranked 17th in 2022, 13th in 2023, 16th in 2024, and 25th in 2025, making it a weak start so far.

Statistically, Lahiri ranks 13th in driving accuracy (63.69%) and 43rd in driving distance (296.9 yards). With seven events remaining, he still has time to move into the “Lock Zone” and secure his place for the 2027 season, should the league continue in its current format.

Off the course, growing uncertainty around LIV Golf’s future has added a layer of speculation to the season. Reports of DeChambeau exploring options beyond LIV ahead of his contract expiry have only amplified that noise. While there is no direct link to on-course results, such backdrops can create a degree of instability around team environments and long-term clarity — factors that can subtly influence performance over time.

Lahiri’s focus now shifts to the remaining events, where a strong run could still reshape both his position on the standings and his immediate future within the league.
