Anirban Lahiri took full advantage of the absence of the top names , who were all playing The Open Championship over in England, to secure an invaluable 3rd place finish with rounds of  68-67-68-65 (20-under 268) at the US$ 3.5mn Barbasol Championship to pick up a cheque of over US$206,000 (Rs 1.5 crores approx) and move closer to securing playing rights for the PGA Tour in 2022 with his winnings for the current season approaching the US$1 million mark.

Lahiri posted two consecutive birdies on his final two holes to finish as the clubhouse leader at 20-under par, before both Seamus Power and J.T. Poston moved to 21-under par to force a two-way playoff for the title.
