Amateur Mannat Brar finished Tied-37th in Austria

India’s leading female amateur golfer, 18-year-old Mannat Brar of Pune, marked an encouraging start to her European campaign by making the cut and finishing tied-37th at the inaugural €50,000 Allegria Stegersbach Ladies Open, a Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS) event, held from May 21-23 in Austria.

Competing against a field of rising professionals and seasoned amateurs, Brar posted rounds of 72-72-75, finishing at 9-over 219 in tough final-day conditions, which involved rain and a one-hour delay that broke her momentum. Mannat will now play two more pro events in Spain and France before heading to Scotland for the R&A Women’s Amateur.

For Indian women’s golf, Brar’s ongoing exposure to European competition is a positive step toward strengthening the amateur pipeline. With India’s top pros such as Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar making strides on the LPGA and LET respectively, now joined by Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth, Hitaashee Bakshi, and Sneha Singh, Brar’s progress marks a critical part of the next generation coming through.

The LET Access Series is the official developmental tour for the Ladies European Tour (LET), offering a gateway to Europe’s premier women’s professional tour. Last year, the top seven players in the LETAS Rankings at the end of the season received a full LET card for the following year.

Brar was just the second Indian to feature on the LETAS this year, following 2024 HWPGT No. 1-ranked Hitaashee Bakshi, who played in France last month.
