Avani during Round 2
The Indian challenge at the €500,000 Tenerife Women’s Open came to a close on Sunday, June 8, with different paths to the finish for Diksha Dagar and Avani Prashanth—the two Indians who made the cut out of five who started the week.
2-time LET winner Diksha Dagar of Delhi started the final day in 9th place after being 3rd at the halfway stage, but carded a 1-over 73 in the last round to slip to 14th. She remains at a creditable 8th in the year’s overall rankings.

Diksha dropped from 3rd after 36 holes to finish 14th
In contrast, 18-year-old LET rookie Avani Prashanth of Bangalore finished with a strong 4-under 68 to climb 23 places to finish tied-20th at 2-under 286, notching her third Top-20 finish in nine starts this year. She now sits at No. 37th on the tour.
Three other Indians had missed the cut earlier on—2024 India No. 1 Hitaashee Bakshi, former top-20 LET player Tvesa Malik, and Sneha Singh of Hyderabad making her LET debut.
Czech Republic’s Sara Kouskova held on to a 54-hole lead to clinch her second straight LET title, finishing at 9-under 279 after a final round of 71, edging Germany’s 6-foot-tall Helen Briem by a single shot.
What’s Next
The LET is in Belgium this week for the €300,000 Hulencourt Women’s Open from June 12–15 and features six Indian players including Tournament invitee Vani Kapoor of Gurgaon, who has recorded four wins in seven starts at home this season on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour. Mysore’s Pranavi Urs, meanwhile, will skip the event as she continues to recover from a wrist injury that forced her to withdraw at the Dutch Ladies Open last month.
