Golf teaches you about a person’s character like no other game and asks players very often to be their own referees. So when a 17 year old girl calls a penalty on herself in a national tournament with valuable world ranking points at stake, it exemplifies everything good the game of golf stands for. Read about  our reigning All India Ladies Champion Sneha Singh in a story below.

It is heartening that tournaments across the country are in high gear and players are crisscrossing the country trying to make up for lost time and the loss of competitive experiences. The Aditi Ashok – Olympic effect seems to have kicked in as more and more kids and especially girls are entering tournaments in droves. We share the busy tour schedules this week.

Team professional golf events are rare and usually arouse the players’ and fans’ passions more than standard individual formats. So when the Ryder Cup came back after a years’ postponement, interest levels were as high as ever. The manner in which the American team came together was commendable especially in the face of the so called divisive forces between the superstar players talked about in the media in the run up to the event. The otherwise individualistic private jet-setting American millionaires came together like a bunch of high school kids and demolished the formidable Europeans at the spectacular Whistling Straits GC in Wisconsin. That’s a story worth mentioning.

With the rainy season tapering off, it’s time all our readers got back to golf in earnest. We look forward to seeing you all at a course somewhere soon.

Happy Golfing !
