Four Indian amateur golfers have earned invitations to the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC), from where the winner gets invited to both the Masters Tournament at Augusta and The Open Championship in Britain. The 72 hole strokeplay event conducted by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), the R&A and The Masters is the region’s most prestigious amateur event.
This year’s championship will be staged at Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis course in Dubai from October 23–26, with invitations purely based on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
The top three Indians on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) who had earned invitations to the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship — Delhi’s Kartik Singh (151) and Bengaluru’s Veer Ganapathy (217) — have opted to skip the event and turn professional in India.
Meanwhile, Rakshit Dahiya (339), who recently started his college golf career at Oakland University in Michigan, has confirmed he will take leave from his studies and fly to Dubai to represent India.
The AAC’s official invite list includes Dahiya, Raghav Gulati (541), Anshul Mishra (485), and Ranveer Mitroo (618). Dahiya is also the only Indian with prior experience at the AAC, having finished tied-37th at the 2024 edition in Japan with rounds of 75-71-70-70 (+6).
