Golf bodies shun Trump courses

Golf institutions were quick to distance themselves from US President Donald Trump in the immediate aftermath of recent unfortunate incidents in Washington DC. The PGA of America announced that the 2022 PGA Championship would not be held at Trump Bedminster in New Jersey and a few days later, the R&A of St Andrews announced that Trump Turnberry would not be considered for the British Open championship in the foreseeable future, despite it being on the regular roster of Open championship venues.
