The Golf Industry Association (GIA) is set to host its Green Initiative Educational Seminar on Friday, June 6, at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) in Mumbai. This focused one-day seminar aims to provide stakeholders in the Indian golf industry with the latest knowledge and tools in turf management, workshop best practices, and environmental mindfulness.
Positioned as a practical and collaborative learning experience, the seminar is tailored for Greens Committee Chairmen, Golf Course Superintendents, and Workshop Managers, who play a pivotal role in the upkeep and efficiency of course infrastructure.
The upcoming seminar is designed to address real-world challenges and solutions around course maintenance, sustainable turf care, and workshop operations. GIA has positioned this as a technical and peer-led forum, promoting standardisation and the sharing of best practices across roles and regions.
The agenda is expected to cover:
- Innovations in turfgrass maintenance and sustainable resource use
- Updates on irrigation technologies and water efficiency methods
- Workshop management techniques and operational safety standards
- Real-world case studies from across Indian courses
Through targeted sessions, the event will aim to help professionals build operational excellence, reduce environmental impact, and extend the longevity and performance of golf facilities.
As per the GIA, seats are limited and subject to availability. Registration is being conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and attendees are encouraged to secure their place in advance.
The seminar will also serve as a networking opportunity, allowing industry professionals to engage directly with peers and experts from across the Indian golf ecosystem.
With ongoing conversations around sustainability and professionalism gaining momentum in the Indian golf sector, the GIA Green Initiative Educational Seminar aligns with broader efforts to modernise course operations and align maintenance protocols with global benchmarks.
Golf course operators and committee members attending the session are expected to gain actionable takeaways and insights that can be directly applied to enhance on-ground functioning at their respective facilities.
