31-year-old Vani Kapoor of Gurgaon continued her dominant run on the domestic women’s pro tour, claiming her fourth win of the season and 35th career title at the 8th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (HWPGT), held at Bangalore Golf Club from June 4-6.

Vani, who has played seven of the eight events this season, has now recorded a Top-3 finish in every start—with four wins, two runner-up finishes, and one tied-third—firmly cementing her position at the top of the Rankings.

Starting the final round tied for the lead with local amateur Saanvi Somu, Vani carded five straight birdies from the 12th to the 15th to return a 3-under 67, matching her first round for a total of 5-under 210 to win by 3 strokes.

Vani’s closing burst saw her pull away from the field, finishing three shots clear of Delhi amateur Zara Anand, who shot 67 on the final day to finish at 2-under 213—her best result yet on the pro tour. Zara, set to begin college golf in the U.S. later this year, posted rounds of 69-72-67.

Veteran Neha Tripathi climbed into third with the best round of the week, a 5-under 65, following earlier rounds of 76-68, finishing at 1-under 209.

Saanvi, in the hunt for her first pro title after four previous runner-up finishes, couldn’t maintain momentum. Her final round 73, which included five bogeys and two birdies, dropped her to fifth.

2019 India No. 1-ranked Gaurika Bishnoi, also in contention midway through the round, slipped with a bogey on the 18th to settle for fourth at even-par 210. Notably, Delhi’s Ridhima Dilawari recorded two eagles—both on Par-4s (6th and 15th)—en route to a 67, finishing sixth.

Chandigarh’s Amandeep Drall, who won the 7th leg last week, shot 70 and finished in a six-way tie for eighth place.

With this win, Vani strengthens her lead in the Rankings, having now earned Rs. 11,88,000. She sits comfortably ahead of Sneha Singh at No. 2 with Rs. 7,82,567— who is currently competing on the Ladies European Tour—while Amandeep Drall, Ridhima Dilawari, and Neha Tripathi round out the top five in the rankings.

The Tour now takes a month-long break before returning to the Southern region for Legs 9 and 10 in July.
