IGU Amateur Tour 2025 kicks off

Bangalore’s 17-year-old Veer G. won the season-opening IGU Telangana Amateur Championship

The IGU National Men’s Amateur Tour commenced its 2025 season with the IGU Telangana Amateur Championship, held at the picturesque, though short, Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) course from February 24-28 as Bengaluru’s Veer Ganapathy—son of tour player turned coach Rahul Ganapathy—won by two-strokes over Delhi’s Ranveer Mitroo in a hard-fought contest.

Ganapathy posted rounds of 70-63-72-65, finishing with a total score of 10-under 270.

With the first event of the season concluded, the tour is in Coimbatore this week for the IGU Tamil Nadu Amateur Championship at Coimbatore Golf Club from March 3-7.
