The TGL’s Presidents’ Day triple-header kept viewers hooked with a thrilling day of action-packed performances
The indoor golf league played by PGA TOUR stars and promoted by Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy on a giant screen, known as Tomorrow Golf League’s (TGL) continues to attract fans. The highly-awaited Presidents’ Day matches were without Tiger Woods in the lineup, so the league had to stand on its own—and it did, keeping audiences engaged for 10 straight hours.
The opener set the tone with Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood, and Ludvig Åberg—just a day after his PGA TOUR victory at the Genesis Invitational—playing a key role.
While TGL’s trajectory looks promising, refinements remain. The simulator technology still has inconsistencies, as noted by Patrick Cantlay and Thomas, and expanding the player roster with stars like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, or even LIV’s Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau could add intrigue.
Despite these areas for improvement, TGL’s ability to adjust and engage viewers is clear. ESPN and league officials are reportedly pleased with early numbers as the league is building momentum. The takeaway from Presidents’ Day: TGL is no longer just an experiment— it can work; but time will tell if it can make a mark on professional golf, once the novelty wears off.
