KGA hosts 6th Ladies Amateur Open

Winners from the 2024 KGA Ladies Amateur Open Golf Championship

The Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) is set to host the 6th edition of its Ladies Amateur Open Golf Championship from April 15-17, this month. The tournament has once again reached its full capacity of 125 participants, reaffirming its place as one of the most anticipated events in the Indian women’s amateur golf calendar.

This year’s field includes 60 outstation players from more than 30 clubs across India. Among the participating clubs are Delhi Golf Club, Poona Club, Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC), Clover Greens, Coorg Golf Links, and Noida Golf Course. The event consistently draws players from across the country and is typically oversubscribed well in advance, highlighting its growing stature.

The tournament will follow a shotgun start format, a structure the KGA Ladies Amateur Open has adopted since inception. The KGA course, known for its challenging layout and pristine playing conditions, coupled with Bengaluru’s temperate April weather, has made this tournament a preferred stop among the four major ladies amateur city-based events — the others being held in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

The 2025 edition will look to further strengthen this momentum and reinforce the KGA Ladies Amateur Open as a benchmark for excellence in the women’s amateur golfing circuit.
