Aditi missed her 2nd cut this season on the LPGA Tour

3-time Olympian Aditi Ashok of Bangalore missed the weekend action for only the 2nd time in her 6 starts this season, at the $3 million Mizuho Americas Open, held at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey from May 8–11.

Aditi carded rounds of 77 and 72 to post a 2-day total of 5-over 149, six strokes above the cutline at 1-under 143. The tough start on Day 1 left her little room to recover and despite an improved second round at even par, the deficit was too big a gap to cover.

This result contrasts sharply with her T-4 finish at the inaugural edition of the Mizuho Americas Open in 2023.

While Aditi continues to remain India’s top-ranked woman golfer, the early part of this season has seen mixed results, and she is yet to break into the Top-30 at an event this year.

Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand clinched her first win of the year and fifth LPGA Tour title, with a closing 69 for a 72-hole total of 15-under 273, finishing four strokes clear of France’s Celine Boutier.

The tournament featured a unique dual-format structure, hosted by five-time LPGA winner Michelle Wie West, which saw 24 top-ranked junior girls from the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) play alongside the 120-player LPGA field in a Stableford-scored competition of their own. Aphrodite Deng, a 15-year-old from Canada, won the junior title. Notably, Deng also won the prestigious Junior Invitational at Sage Valley earlier this year.

World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who won the event last year, was in contention until a bogey on the 9th derailed her final round. She eventually finished Tied-5th at 11-under 277, her second Top-5 of the season.
