Aditi Ashok
India’s two-time Olympian Aditi Ashok finished tied-8th at the US$ 2.3 mn NW Arkansas Championship making a remarkable 15 birdies over 54 holes to end at 11 under, 202. After opening strongly on day one with a bogey free 6 under 65, Aditi made one double in Rd2 for a 1 under 70 and then got off to a fast start in the final round with 4 birdies in her first 7 holes, vaulting upto 3rd on the leaderboard. However she got derailed with consecutive bogeys on 12 & 13 but recovered with birdies on the two par fives on the back 9 to get a creditable top 10 finish.
This was Aditi’s first individual top 10 for the year as she had finished 3rd in a two player team competition a couple of weeks before the Tokyo Olympics. Aditi now stands 78th on the LPGA Tour’s Money List with just five more events leading up to the season ending Tour Championship in November, which the top 80 on the Money list get invited to.
She plays this week in New Jersey at the US$ 1.75mn Shoprite LPGA Classic scheduled from Oct.1-3.
