The Bunts International Golfers Association (BIGA), in association with Allcargo Group, hosted the second edition of the Allcargo BIGA Golf Tournament 2025 at Oxford Golf Resort, Pune, from October 15–17.
More than 200 golfers, industry leaders and members of the Bunt community from India, Europe and the United States took part, building on the success of the inaugural 2023 event at Prestige Golfshire, Bengaluru.
Created to offer a global sporting platform for the Bunt community, BIGA has also extended its support beyond golf. This year, the association sponsored two national-level athletes — swimmer Chinthan Shetty and shooter Evani Rai — as part of its efforts to back emerging Indian talent.
Competition was held across multiple categories, with the Open Category title going to Rohan Hegde, whose consistent play stood out in a strong field. Winners were felicitated at the closing ceremony by Shashi Kiran Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Allcargo Group, alongside senior BIGA representatives.
“Golf is more than a sport; it reflects patience, discipline and precision,” said Mr. Shetty, who also played in the event. “The Allcargo BIGA Golf Tournament brings together community, culture and sportsmanship while inspiring collaboration and purpose.”
Evenings celebrated the community’s coastal roots with a Yakshagana performance, a high-energy set by Kannada band Barfi, and a sitar recital by Chandulal Kalburgi.
The event concluded with the announcement of plans to develop Pilikula Golf Club in Mangalore by 2027, signalling BIGA’s intention to further grow its presence in Indian and global golf.
