The Gading Raya Golf Club in Jakarta will host the inaugural APGC Mid-Amateur
The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) has announced the inaugural Mid-Amateur Championship, scheduled to be held from August 12–14, at the Graham Marsh-designed Gading Raya Golf Club in Tangerang, on the outskirts of Jakarta, Indonesia.
This new addition to the APGC tournament calendar is a 54-hole men’s stroke-play event, aimed at filling a critical competitive gap in the amateur landscape by offering structured competition for players aged 25 and above.
The event will be contested in four age divisions:
- Group A: 25–29 years
- Group B: 30–37 years
- Group C: 38–46 years
- Group D: 47 years and above
Participation is open to male amateurs holding Amateur Status as defined by the current R&A rules. Each division will initially field 30 players, with future expansion plans including women’s divisions, as confirmed by Bones Floro, Chairman of the APGC Championship Committee.
“We’re excited to confirm that the Mid-Amateur Championships will be staged at Gading Raya Golf Club in August,” said Taimur Hassan Amin, Chairman of the APGC.
Located just 45 minutes from Jakarta, the Gading Raya Golf Club has hosted major events in the past, including the 2017 Southeast Asian Amateur Team Championship (Putra Cup) and the 2019 editions of the Indonesia Ladies and Men’s Amateur Opens.
Entry queries for the Mid-Amateur Championship can be directed to the Indonesia Golf Association at secretariat@pbpgl.org.
In addition to the Mid-Amateur event, the APGC Senior Amateur Championship is tentatively scheduled for the second or third week of November with Vietnam expected to be the host country, as an official announcement is awaited.
With the inclusion of the inaugural Mid-Amateur Championship and the return of the Senior Amateur Championship later this year, the APGC continues to deepen its role in shaping the competitive golf ecosystem in the region—offering structured pathways for golfers across every stage of their amateur careers.
