APGC confirms nine-event calendar across six countries for 2026

India’s Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar finished 5th at the APGC Mid-Am in 2025

The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), which represents over 40 member countries and oversees the region’s biggest amateur championships, has released its 2026 tournament calendar, setting the competitive pathway for elite amateurs across Asia-Pacific. India traditionally fields teams at all major APGC events, widely regarded as the pinnacle of amateur careers in the region.

Indian golfers head into the new season with encouraging results from 2025. Lt. Col. Varoon Parmar of the Indian Army finished fifth at the APGC Mid-Amateur Championship in Indonesia, competing against the region’s best players aged 25 and above. In the senior ranks, Sandeep Sandhu of Chandigarh emerged joint winner at the APGC Senior Amateur Championship in Manila.

The 2026 APGC calendar features nine championships across six countries — China, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, New Zealand and Sri Lanka — covering juniors, mid-amateurs, seniors, elite amateurs and team events. Flagship tournaments include the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific, the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, the Queen Sirikit Cup and the Nomura Cup.

India continues to be eliminated as possible host country due to visa difficulties for Pakistan nationals.
