Arjun Atwal, India’s only PGA Tour winner, who was making his debut appearance at a Champions Tour event in the USA, creditably shot 70-68-70 (5-under 208) to finish tied for 11th in the US$ 2mn Celebrity Classic in Texas, relying on a special invitation since he didnt earn his playing rights at the Qualifying Tournament played at the start of 2023.
With this strong performance, and backed by his status as a former PGA Tour winner, we hope Atwal will earn other invitations into Champions Tour events since he has worked hard over the last few years to keep his body and game in shape in anticipation of turning 50.
We will keep readers informed of when Atwal tees it up at the next Champions Tour event as he could very well win a title there.
