Anirban Lahiri has made three for three cuts on the Asian Tour
India’s Anirban Lahiri, a two-time Olympian and member of Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC on the LIV Golf League, finished as the top Indian at the US$ 2 million Hong Kong Open, carding rounds of 65-66-67-68 for a tied-21st finish at 14-under 266.
Lahiri, who will play his 4th season on the LIV Tour in 2026, earned US$ 20,600 (₹18.2 lakh) which is insignificant considering his multi million dollar earnings on the LIV Tour as part of Bryson DeChambeau’s Team .
The 38-year-old has only played three Asian Tour events this season, with his best finish being T-10 at the International Series India earlier this year. A few years ago Anirban had finished high on the rankings and earned a spot at The Open championship in the process. This year too, the HK Open offered the winner a place at both The Masters and The Open which would have attracted Lahiri and his many LIV team mates who cannot otherwise earn world ranking points,
Among other Indians, S.S.P. Chawrasia carded 66-67-69-68 to finish T-41 at 10-under 270, while Ajeetesh Sandhu followed at T-47 (9-under 271) with rounds of 66-68-69-68.
The title went to Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin, who dominated the field with rounds of 60-65-65-63 to win at 27-under 253. The 22-year-old’s victory also earned him spots in two major championships — the Masters and The Open Championship in 2026.
Players who missed the cut at 5-under par included –
Shiv Kapur (67-69), Jeev Milkha Singh (70-69), Gaganjeet Bhullar (74-68)
