Yuvraj is currently ranked 77th on the Asian Tour rankings

Chandigarh’s Yuvraj Sandhu, 28, was the only Indian to make the cut , finishing tied-43rd at the US$1 million Mercuries Taiwan Masters.  Playing his second full Asian Tour season after earning playing rights through the Asian Development Tour in 2023, the current Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) rankings leader has collected 99.08 points and climbed to 77th on the Asian Tour rankings from nine starts this year.

At the demanding Taiwan Golf and Country Club layout,  Viraj Madappa, who had tied seventh last week alongside Ajeetesh Sandhu at the Yeangder TPC in Chinese Taipei, failed to make the cut. .

Yuvraj will need  to balance a busy schedule between the Asian Tour and the PGTI, where he leads the money list after four domestic wins this season. As the Tour moves into several big money events, we will watch whether he can climb into a higher rank in Asia.

Other players who missed the cut included –

Shiv Kapur 76-77(+9), Rahil Gangjee 80-74(+10), S.S.P. Chawrasia 79-75(+10), Ajeetesh Sandhu 79-77(+12), Rashid Khan 77-82(+15) which shows the challenge of competing on the Asian Tour.

The tour now moves to Indonesia for the US$ 2mn Jakarta International Championship , part of the International Series, from Oct. 2-5 which will see several LIV Tour players in action.
