Atwal misses 2nd playoff cut on PGA Champions Tour

Arjun Atwal hopes to earn full status on the senior tour in 2024

Arjun Atwal, who has made a mark on the PGA Champions Tour for players aged over 50, earning US$ 237,147, with five cuts in six events, ended in 65th place in the rankings after the first of the three season ending playoff events. With only the top 54 advancing to the 2nd playoff event, Atwal sees his season come to an end.

Atwal shot rounds of 74-72-75 (total 5-over 221) to finish-56th at the first of three playoff events – the US$ 2.2mn Dominion Energy Charity Classic in Virginia.

The 2024 PGA Tour champions season will see 28 tournaments with a total of US$67 million up for grabs, the highest in the 44 year history of the Champions Tour.

Atwal, who is still the only Indian to win a PGA Tour title, has shown that he can compete at this level and we at India Golf Weekly will follow his progress in 2024 closely.
