Delhi Caddy appeals for help

The Delhi Golf Club is steeped in history – shown here is the Barakhamba Monument, a 14th-century Tughlaq-era tomb alongside the 17th tee

Shyam Singh has been a familiar face at the Delhi Golf Club for over two decades, working as a caddy and walking the course day after day.

After losing his leg in an accident, Shyam has continued to work with the help of a prosthetic limb, covering 10 to 15 km on the course to earn a living and support his family.

Due to years of heavy use, his prosthetic leg is now damaged and needs urgent replacement.

India Golf Weekly asks its readers to make a small donation to make a real difference.

Shyam does not have the financial means to afford a new prosthetic. He has already borrowed ₹1,00,000 from family, co-workers and well wishers for ongoing treatment, but still requires ₹1,55,000 to cover the cost of a replacement limb and related medical expenses.

Any support, big or small, will help Shyam get back on his feet and continue to earn his livelihood with dignity.
