
Veteran champion Gangesh Khaitan has been featured in Limca Book of Records
Recently, 72 year old Delhi golfer Gangesh Khaitan, successfully defended his over 70 age group title at the Asia Pacific Seniors Championship in Philippines played over 54 holes of strokeplay.
Gangesh Khaitan’s achievement of longevity at the top level of the game defies belief. At age 72, Gangesh has now rewritten his feat in Limca Book of Records, having represented India for 57 years, having first gone to the World Juniors at age 15 !
An accomplished player and long-time supporter of the sport, Khaitan has represented India internationally and contributed immensely to promoting golf across levels. Over the years, he has been a guiding force for emerging golfers, combining his deep knowledge of the game with a sportsman’s humility and spirit.
His journey began at the Lucknow Golf Club before moving on to achieve numerous successes at national and international tournaments. Beyond his personal achievements, Khaitan has been an advocate for strengthening golf’s infrastructure and opportunities in India.
