DGC Open – Fewer Indians make the cut

Chikkarangappa S. held the 6-hole lead to himself only to finish 4th at the DGC Open

Out of 78 Indian players in the field at the DGC Open, 23 qualified for the final two rounds which is 15 fewer than last year.

Fewer Indians also finished in the top-10: six this year compared to eight in 2022.

One notable absentee this year due to illness was Ajeetesh Sandhu, who finished second in 2022. His shoes were filled by Rashid Khan and Chikkarangappa S., who finished second and fourth, respectively.

Shaurya Bhattacharya, top-ranked amateur on the IGU circuit shot 71-75-69-78 (5-over 293) to finish tied-55th for the best-amateur trophy.
