DGC Open prize fund jumps to US$750,000

The DGC Open, presented by Mastercard, will be held from March 16-19 with an elevated prize fund of US$ 750,000. The tournament will see an increase of US$ 250,000 or 50% in its second season itself.

While there is speculation that the tour will provide fewer spots to Indian pros due to PGTI’s latest agreement with the PGA Tour & the DP World Tour, the PGTI has shown interest in allowing the maximum number of Indian players to play in the event.

In any case, the DGC Open, an initiative of the club officials is a welcome new event on the Indian golf calendar and gives the Indian players a great opportunity to win and earn valuable playing rights in Asia as Delhi Golf Club has thrown up more than its fair share of Indian winners over the years.
