Diksha defends Gold Medal in Japan

Diksha Dagar poses with her Gold Medal in Tokyo

24-year-old, Ladies European Tour regular, Diksha Dagar, easily defended her gold medal with rounds of 68, 65 and 72 for an 11-under total , 205 in the women’s individual stroke-play event at the Deaflympics in Japan. Her victory margin — 14 strokes over France’s Margaux Rezo — underlined complete control from start to finish.

Diksha, who also won gold in 2021 and silver in 2017, remains the only hearing-impaired golfer worldwide to have represented her country at both the Deaflympics and Olympic Games. She competed in Tokyo 2020 and again at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Among the men, India’s Harsh Singh placed 12th at 22-over, while Vibhu Tyagi tied for 14th at 24-over.

Diksha’s win emphasized her remarkable accomplishments despite facing obstacles in her journey and remains an inspiration to young Indians in any field.
