Saptak Talwar qualified for the final stage of the European Tour Qualifiers
India’s Shubhankar Sharma, an eight-year European Tour veteran, and Saptak Talwar, in his rookie season on the European Challenge Tour, have advanced to the Final Stage of the DP World Tour Qualifying School, to be held from November 7–11 in Tarragona, Spain.
Sharma, 29, bounced back strongly after a difficult season in which he made only seven cuts in 28 starts. At the Second Stage qualifier at Desert Springs Resort, he produced rounds of 68-69-71-67 to finish tied-eighth at 13-under 275. Having finished 178th on the season rankings, Sharma earned a direct exemption into the Second Stage.
Talwar, 25, who has competed this year on the HotelPlanner (European Challenge Tour), also advanced after shooting 68-64-72-72 to finish tied-11th at 12-under 276. He now joins Sharma in the grueling six-day Final Stage.
Indian-American Varun Chopra, the 2023 PGTI Rookie of the Year, also made it through after finishing 18th at 12-under 272 at Isla Canela Links with rounds of 69-70-67-66. Chopra, a Northwestern University graduate with family roots in Chandigarh, had earlier placed tied-third in the First Stage Qualifier in Sweden.
Also exempt into the Final Stage is Veer Ahlawat, the 2024 PGTI Order of Merit leader. Ahlawat earned his DP World Tour card through his strong domestic season but was unable to retain it after finishing 146th in the rankings with 11 cuts made in 20 starts.
The Final Stage will feature 156 players competing over 108 holes, with the top 21 finishers earning full DP World Tour cards for the 2026 season.
