DLF G&CC has been a host to the event for last three editions

With the winter weather descending across North India, golf has picked up further momentum. The men’s and women’s pro tours are in action as are the long awaited IGU boys and girls tours. The Asia Pacific Men’s and Women’s champions being held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in consecutive weeks gives Indian youngsters their first opportunity to compete internationally since the pandemic shut down international golf across Asia in March 2020.

Whether India will get to see world class tournaments back in the country in 2022 depends on travel exemptions. The Hero Indian Open has taken a bold step of being listed on the European Tour calendar. If that event goes ahead then it will be likely that another new event on the Asian Tour will be held at the Delhi Golf Club and perhaps the Panasonic Open will also take place in consecutive weeks. Sadly, the uncertainty surrounding quarantine requirements for players returning to their home countries clouds the firm announcements of these events.

Meanwhile corporate golf sees its first big tournament series with the 21st staging of the Chola World Corporate Golf Challenge across Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Delhi and the seniors get back in action with the Vredestein Tyres Golf on the AVT Champions Tour at Royal Calcutta.

We look forward to keeping our readers updated in the coming weeks and months with all the news concerning Indian golf.

Happy Reading and Happy Golfing !
