Veer finished Tied-13th in Austria, his best finish this year so far

29-year-old Veer Ahlawat of Gurgaon finally delivered a strong performance in his first year on the DP World (European) Tour, finishing Tied-13th at the $2.75 million Austrian Alpine Open.

Ahlawat, who earned his playing rights this season by topping the 2024 PGTI domestic Rankings—boosted by a runner-up finish at the Hero Indian Open last year—secured his first Top-15 finish with rounds of 67-68-70-66 for a four-round total of 9-under 271

Veer capped his final round with a dramatic eagle on the 18th to rebound from a mid-round double bogey.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Shubhankar Sharma, the only other Indian with full playing rights on the DP World Tour, continued his run of poor form to miss the cut for the fifth straight event, and has now failed to make the weekend in 9 of 13 starts this season.

Next Stop: KLM Open
The DP World Tour moves to Amsterdam this week for the KLM Open, to be held at The International from June 5–8. Both Ahlawat and Sharma are scheduled to tee it up as they look to build momentum heading into the heart of the European swing.
