Tommy Fleetwood is currently in hot form

Seven-time DP World Tour winner, ranked 13th in the world and 2024 Olympic silver medallist Tommy Fleetwood will entertain Indian fans, joining Rory McIlroy in the $4 million DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club, October 16–19. Tickets went on sale August 7.

Fleetwood, European No. 1 in 2017, has played three Ryder Cups, famously sealing victory for Europe in Rome last year with his singles win over Rickie Fowler. Known for his consistency and flair, the Englishman also runs the Tommy Fleetwood Academy in England and Dubai, promoting junior golf.

This is Fleetwood’s second visit to India following his 2013 visit for the US$2 million Avantha Masters, at Jaypee Greens, Greater Noida, where he finished tied-9th behind Gaganjeet Bhullar, who was runner-up at that event.

Fleetwood is in prime form as he last week finished runner-up at the US$20 million FedEx Cup St. Jude Championship on the PGA tour and 4th at the US$20mn BMW Championship.

“Delhi is such an amazing place—the people, the food—I can’t wait to get back,” said Fleetwood. “Delhi Golf Club is a tight, strategic course where all styles of play can contend. I’m aiming to give the fans some exciting golf.”

The event, co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India, carries the richest prize fund – US$ 4mn, ever for a tournament in India.

DP World, the Tour’s title partner since 2022, is using the new event to underline India’s growing influence in elite golf.

“Having both McIlroy and Fleetwood in the field will shine a global spotlight on India’s place in world golf,” said Yuvraj Narayan, Group Deputy CEO, DP World.
