
The Indian Golf Industry Association conducted its two day Summit at Qutab Golf Club in Saket, New Delhi on Oct. 13-14.
The two-day summit consisted of conference sessions by well known international experts, an exhibition of various products and services related to the business of construction, maintenance and operations of golf courses, as well as playing equipment, accessories and services related to the golf industry.
The event was inaugurated by legend Kapil Dev on Oct. 13th, which was soon followed by Ms Meenakshi Lekhi, the Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India at the event who spoke about golf tourism and its vast possibilities in India.

The event came to a close with an awards ceremony recognising excellence in different aspects of golf course management, eco-sustainability, presentations, and a gala dinner.
The last GIA summit was held in April 2019 at the Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi. It was attended by 800 delegates. The 2018 summit, which was held at Hotel Lalit Ashok in Bangalore, featured a day-long conference on sustainability in golf by the first ever official delegation to India from the R&A of St. Andrews. Prior to that, three editions were held in Gurgaon, two editions at Oxford Resort, Pune and the first ever GIA summit at Eagleton Resort, Bangalore in 2013.
