
15-year-old Guntas Kaur Sandhu of Chandigarh won the IGU West Bengal Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship 2026 at Tollygunge Club, Kolkata, closing with rounds of 71-74-72 (217).
Guntas, the No.1 ranked girl on the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Category A rankings in 2025, set the tone with a steady opening round and, despite a tougher second day, held her position with a final-round 72 to secure the Ladies and A&B Girls Combined title.
Last year, she became the youngest Indian to make the cut at the elite Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship in Vietnam.
Gujarat’s Janneya A. Dassanniee (72-75-72) finished runner-up at 219, rebounding with a closing 72 after a mid-tournament dip. Haryana’s Ceerat Kang (70-76-75) placed third at 221.
In the A&B Girls Combined standings, Karnataka’s Priya Kumari (74-76-72) produced her best round of the week on the final day to climb to second at 222. A three-way tie for third at 224 featured Rajasthan’s Ojaswini Saraswat (74-78-72) and Shiksha Jain (69-77-78), along with Haryana’s Smira Bhambri (73-73-78).
The Category B Girls title was decided in a playoff after the trio finished tied. Ojaswini Saraswat, competing in the category for the first time, emerged winner, with Shiksha Jain second and Smira Bhambri third.
In Category C Girls, Karnataka’s Aashna Amogha (86-79-86) won with a total of 251. Haryana’s Aaliyah Kalra (87-80-88) finished second at 255, while Delhi’s Amaira Gulati (89-84-84) was third at 257.
