The Haryana Government facilitated the state’s Deaflympics athletes, including professional golfer Diksha Dagar, who won the women’s golf gold medal in Brazil a few weeks ago.

21-year-old Dagar, a two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour, was awarded ₹ 1.2 crore at the ceremony organised at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula along with three other gold medallists, two in badminton and one in wrestling. Two more wrestlers were awarded Rs 40 lacs each for winning bronze.

Congratulating the athletes, their families, teachers and trainers, for making the country and the state proud, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that participating in world-class competitions is a great achievement in itself and every athlete who has participated in this Deaflympics have certainly shown their skill, physical ability and mental toughness.

Dagar competes on the Ladies European Professional Tour and was never seriously challenged in Brazil.
