Hero Women’s Pro Tour – Amateur Mahreen wins

Mahreen Bhatia added a pro title to her name

16-year-old Mahreen Bhatia delivered a breakthrough performance to become the first amateur winner this year on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, clinching the 15th Leg of the season at Jaypee Wishtown in Noida, with a composed three-shot victory. The Delhi teenager closed with a four-under 67 for a 12-under total after rounds of 68 and a tournament-best 66 on day two and withstood a charge from 5 time winner this year – Vani Kapoor.

Vani finished second at nine-under after rounds of 69-67-68, while Sneha Singh and Jahanvi Bakshi tied for third at five-under and three-under respectively. Only five players finished under par for the week, underlining the quality of Mahreen’s scoring — highlighted by her second-round 66, the best card of the tournament.

She joins other amateur winners on the Hero WPGT, including now successful tour players Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar, Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth and last year’s amateur winner, Nishna Patel. At just 16, Mahreen has now added her own chapter to that list.
